This Rx Files’ feature pharmacist is Melissa Fiedler, pharmacy manager of White Drug #61, our central fill site in Fargo, ND.
Melissa was raised on a farm near Pisek, ND, a small community in the northeastern part of the state. She graduated from Park River High School in 1992 with honors. She then moved to Fargo and started working the summer of 1993 at Northport Drug Pharmacy as a clerk and later that fall as a pharmacy intern. After receiving her PharmD, Melissa stayed employed at Northport Drug as a staff pharmacist.
Melissa left Northport Drug in the fall of 1999 and went to work for Thrifty White as pharmacy manager at store #52 in Fargo. In March of 2004 she accepted a promotion as manager of the Ready refill™, store #61, where she remains in that role today.
In June of 2005 Melissa and Chad Fiedler were married. Chad is employed as a salesman at Butler Machinery in Fargo. They currently reside in West Fargo and have a daughter, Katelyn, who is nearly two years old.
Melissa and store #61 underwent a major transformation this past summer and fall, moving across the parking lot into a new 14,000 square foot facility and adding conveyors as well as new ScriptPro robots to replace the robots in the old location. It is exciting to see all the new technology, and although there have been some start-up bumps, those difficulties are being worked out with our robotics and software vendors. Thank you Melissa for your dedication and efforts in making this a smooth running operation. You have accepted the challenge to make this a very successful operation and for that we are all grateful. Best wishes in 2010 as this new venture moves forward!
